How to Deactivate & Close A FASTag Account?

Ever wondered what to do with your FASTag account once you no longer need it? Perhaps you've sold your car or switched to a different toll payment method. The good news is, deactivating and closing your FASTag account is a straightforward process. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you navigate it smoothly:

    1. Head to the AU Small Finance Bank FASTag Webpage:

    • This is where the magic happens. Open a web browser and visit the dedicated FASTag webpage of AU Small Finance Bank. You can find the exact URL on their website or through a quick online search.

    2. Login to Your FASTag Account:

    • Look for a section labelled "Customer Login" or something similar. Click on it and then proceed to "Continue to Login."
    • Enter your Username and Password. These were likely sent to your registered mobile number and/or email ID when you first activated your FASTag account.
      • Forgot your password?

No worries! Click on the "Forgot Password" option and follow the prompts to reset it.

    3. Initiate Account Closure:

    • Once logged in, navigate to the section dedicated to account management. This might be labelled "Account Management," "Account Services," or something similar.
    • Look for an option titled "Account Closure" or "Deactivate FASTag Account." Click on it to proceed.

    4. Provide Necessary Information:

    • You'll be asked for some details to verify your account ownership. This typically includes your FASTag Account Number, the IFSC code linked to your account, and a copy of a cancelled cheque from the same account.

    5. Submit Your Application:

    • Once you've provided all the required information, carefully review it for accuracy. Then, submit the application for closure.

    What Happens Next?

    • AU Small Finance Bank will process your closure request.
    • Once approved, your account will be deactivated, and any remaining balance in your Security Deposit and Wallet will be refunded within 15 days. This timeframe adheres to the Turnaround Time (TAT) defined by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

    Additional Tips:

    • Make sure you have a scanned copy of your cancelled cheque readily available before starting the process.
    • Double-check all the information you provide to avoid any delays in processing your closure request.
    • Consider contacting AU Small Finance Bank's customer support if you encounter any difficulties during the process.

By following these steps, you can successfully deactivate and close your AU Small Finance Bank FASTag account. Remember, a deactivated account cannot be used for toll payments, and any remaining balance will be returned to you within the stipulated timeframe.
